Why are my Google Business Profile posts not showing up?

When a Published GBP Post Disappears From the Customer View

Google Business Profile posts can share updates, offers, and events on Search and Maps, but the management screen and the public display are not the same thing. If a post says published but customers cannot see it, first check the profile from Search and Maps as a customer, then confirm the post type, date range, content, and profile status.

Posts are a customer-information feature, not the foundation of local rankings. The core visibility system still depends on the business entity, relevance, distance, prominence, website authority, reviews, and the ability to convert the traffic Google sends. That broader system is mapped in our Miami GBP guide.

Know What Google Currently Does With Posts

Google currently supports Update, Offer, and Event posts. Posts can include text and, depending on the type, photos, videos, dates, promotional details, and action links. Older posts can be archived unless a date range keeps the event or offer relevant. A business should therefore distinguish between a post that failed to publish and one that has simply aged out of the current presentation.

Also review the content itself. Google notes that posts containing phone numbers in the description may be rejected. Use the profile’s contact fields and appropriate action buttons instead of trying to turn every post into a block of contact information.

Diagnose the Profile State Before Reposting Everything

If posts disappeared after an ownership change, suspension, reinstatement, or verification event, document that timing. If only one post is missing, compare it with posts that still display. If every post is missing while other profile features are also delayed, the issue may be broader than the post editor.

  • Check the public profile in both Search and Maps.
  • Confirm whether the post is an Update, Offer, or Event and whether its date range is still current.
  • Review the post for content that could trigger rejection.
  • Record whether the disappearance followed a profile-state change.

Use Posts for Customer Decisions the Profile Can Actually Influence

A useful post answers a current customer question: a holiday schedule, a limited-time offer, a new service, an event, a booking opportunity, or an operational update. Publishing generic keyword paragraphs each week creates activity without necessarily improving the customer experience.

At YSH, we decide whether a post deserves to exist by asking what new decision it helps a customer make. If the information belongs permanently on a service page, profile field, or FAQ, put it there instead of expecting a temporary post to carry the whole message.

Track Action, Not Posting Frequency

There is no business value in hitting an arbitrary post count. Measure clicks on relevant action links, bookings, calls, offer response, and customer questions when the post has a measurable purpose. If a post simply keeps customers informed, judge it by accuracy and usefulness rather than trying to assign it a ranking value it cannot prove.

For local strategies where profile activity supports a larger conversion system, YSH Local SEO and Maps work places GBP posts in the right role instead of treating them as a standalone SEO tactic.

The GBP Post Rule

Use posts for timely customer information, verify that they are publicly visible, and do not confuse a publishing feature with the core ranking and conversion system.
